Nice, spacious, non-claustrophobic cockpit with excellent visibility and a widescreen head-up display, a navigator you can talk to face-to-face when necessary, and firepower in all directions rather than just straight ahead. Plus a good, varied arsenal instead of nothing but laser bolts.Thunderbird 7https://www.blogger.com/profile/02357333871189090989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3893206653438189717.post-9587375813450589232012-11-06T02:24:48.902-05:002012-11-06T02:24:48.902-05:00I'm sure there was at least one Marauder; it c...I'm sure there was at least one Marauder; it can be seen in the Draconia's launch bay at the climax of the Buck Rogers pilot.Christopher Millshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15978811373546110421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3893206653438189717.post-9869264180640990052012-11-06T02:12:05.934-05:002012-11-06T02:12:05.934-05:00I wonder what happened to those mothballed ships i...I wonder what happened to those mothballed ships in the end?

I remember catching a brief glimpse of a wrecked Viper (possibly deliberately wrecked and used for whoops-we-crashed-again scenarios) in the background of the last-season KNIGHT RIDER episode shot on the Universal backlot (doubling as another film studio).

Did they really build a full-sized Marauder for Buck Rogers? I don't remember it appearing in any episodes. Was it just the cockpit or the whole fighter? I always got the impression that, compared with a Starfighter, the Marauders were larger and - therefore - impractical to build a full-sized mock-up (as well as being an unnecessary expense for an only-occasionally-featured craft).

I'll have to give my DVDs another spin and watch for it.SLOW ROBOThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15891511135128944714noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3893206653438189717.post-23630726665144766182012-11-05T23:38:38.242-05:002012-11-05T23:38:38.242-05:00Frackin' A! I got to climb inside the cockpits and live out your full-scale Viper fantasies. However I, ever the Star Wars snob, just wished for a full-scale X-wing fighter!Tonyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04006976826851198428noreply@blogger.com
