In the Reimagined BSG, they actually created a CGA model of the Valley Forge.

see:
http://en.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/Agro_ShipAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09092828077841591553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3893206653438189717.post-20964399644842105632011-09-03T21:44:27.687-04:002011-09-03T21:44:27.687-04:00The ARK model used in the show "The Starlost&...The ARK model used in the show "The Starlost" was indeed different than the Valley Forge. I have the ARK model from the "The Starlost" and have been restoring it over a number of years. It's a slow process as I am doing this a hobby when I get a chance in between my real job. The main hull when put together is about 12 feet long. With all the domes the ship is about 10 feet wide as well. I've always wondered: do people even LOOK AT the things they're comparing? I could forgive mistakes if they are made solely from old, hazy memories from something they have not seen for two or three decades, but in this day and age, one would think that people would do just a little homework before presenting something as fact. (Of course, in my case, I nerdily remember details of, say, the Ark II & the Landmaster well enough that I didn't even have to look at the photos posted here! What can I say? I grew up on this stuff!)

In a slightly related vein, I don't like when a reviewer back in the day slammed a program or film, in some cases without having paid much attention (criticizing things that would have been explained if he or she had actually watched it), and then for years afterward, other reviewers would simply 'parrot' that negative review. Space: 1999 was a victim of that for many years, and likely still is.
CRAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3893206653438189717.post-45065953263976888122011-05-24T02:20:52.895-04:002011-05-24T02:20:52.895-04:00Great... behind the scenes stuff, especially about...Great... behind the scenes stuff, especially about props and models, is really interesting to me. There's something fascinating about knowing these vehicles and such existed (or may still exist) unlike a lot of things we see in films today.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
