I desperately wanted to see this when I was a kid. I remember the dinosaur coming up through the floor of the bathysphere from the TV commercials - which I associate pretty strongly with seeing The Amazing Captain Nemo on TV (same year).
Call me impulsive, I just went to Scarecrow Video (greatest video store in the world) and rented the region 2 DVD. The movie is pretty fun and better-written than I expected it to be. Plus, John "Cheers" Ratzenberger has a decent part. His big character thing was to keep punching his buddy on the arm - it cracked me up every time.
> Looks like fun to me!
ReplyDeleteIndeed.

ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely great fun and a classic. If you like the Doug McClure films you'll love this one.
ReplyDeleteAlso, that is none other than Ed Bishop of UFO [1970 ironically enough] handling the narrator chores in that trailer. SFF
