Yesterday more than TWENTY new people became Followers of this blog! I'm guessing that someone somewhere gave me a plug, and I'd be very curious to find out who, so I can thank them!
Anyway, all you new readers, welcome to Space: 1970, one aging geek's nostalgic look at a much-maligned decade of genre entertainment. I appreciate your patronage, and hope you'll stick around. I've only barely begun to delve into the subject, and knowing that folks are reading along is very encouraging.
More cool stuff soon - in the meantime, enjoy the archives!
Nicely put together. I so agree with about the '70's.
ReplyDeleteHi Christopher.
ReplyDeleteI came here thanks to a plug from James Maliszewski on Grognardia:
http://grognardia.blogspot.com/2010/01/space-1970.html
I heard about you from Grognardia as well.
ReplyDeleteLike the guys above, it was James' weblog with the mention.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure how I found your site. Most likely from Grognardia.
ReplyDeleteI listed you as one my favorite blogs for 2009.
I also got the link from Grognardia.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I also recently have been rewatching the old 70s scifi stuff, especially Space 1999.
It was nice to see some synchronicity happening among the hoi poloi.
Grognardia
ReplyDeleteAnd again, Grognardia.
ReplyDeleteGrognardia too. Im guessing you feel thankful eh? :)
ReplyDeleteI too plugged in from the Grognardia blog. I was just amazed to see the posts about the old Saturday morning kid shows I'd once watched that I'd forgotten the names of. I used to watch Jason of Star Command while playing with my Micronaughts. Remember Micronaughts? :)
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Spain. Grognardia too, and a big 70s sci-fi fan!
ReplyDeleteGrognardia FTW! Woot!
ReplyDeleteI added you to my blogroll as well once I confirmed Star Trek was included in your coverage, even if its only once in a while.
STAR TREK is what inspired my love for this stuff in the first place, so it certainly has a place on this blog.
ReplyDeleteI will write about STAR TREK (and STAR WARS) on occassion, but since there's so much TREK on the web already, I'll mostly be focusing on the lesser-known (or at least less written-about) shows and movies.
I've posted my thanks over on the Grognardia blog.
Thanks again to everyone (and maybe you'll want to check out some of my other sites as well)!
yep, the grog sent me too ;)
ReplyDeleteI've been reading for the last two months, I just forgot to hit the Follow button!! :D
ReplyDeleteThrow another Grognardia referral on the pile!
ReplyDeleteAnd yet another for Grognardia. I've added you to the blogroll on my own blog, as well...
ReplyDeleteI heard about your new blog from (wait for it!)... Grognardia :)
ReplyDeleteEvery one of these science fiction shows and movies from the 1970s is the science fiction of my childhood. I have a lot of fond memories of each of them. Looking forward to reading more.
I think I was directed here from the Lair of the Evil DM a while ago... but what I wanted to comment about was that the picture of Maximilian reminded me of a rumor I heard - The Black Hole will (allegedly) be remade!
ReplyDeletelovely stuff but where's Blake's 7!!!
ReplyDeleteBeing a lowly American, I've never seen so much as a single episode of BLAKE'S 7. That means that it's not part of my childhood, sadly...
