MAN FROM ATLANTIS (1977) Comic Art By Mike Zeck

From the first issue of Marvel Comics' Man From Atlantis comic book (dated February 1978) comes this pin-up portrait of the crew of The Cetacean submersible by the great Mike Zeck. I like it, but I'm not sure who he was using as a model for Dr. Elizabeth Merrill - it's certainly not Belinda Montgomery!

Very MASTER OF KUNG FU-looking. It's like Shang Chi is about to kick down one of the doors but after that he would apologize. "Sorry, I totally thought you were working for my dad."

This blog is dedicated to the science fiction films and television series of the 1970s - give or take a few years (say, 1969-1983) - including such nostalgic favorites as Star Wars, Space: 1999, UFO, Space Academy, the original Battlestar Galactica, Jason of Star Command, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Logan's Run and many others.
