STAR TREK Black Light Spock Poster

Another profoundly Seventies sci-fi artifact: a trippy, licensed Spock black light poster, circa 1976, to adorn your dorm room wall! The Seventies were, indeed, the golden age of Star Trek merchandising!

  1. It might even be around '79 or even 80's since the middle pictures features Spock in his "Motion Picture" space suit.

    1. That's not the movie spacesuit. It's the TV series one, as seen in The Tholian Web - albeit not very well-drawn.

    2. You are correct. That's the TOS spacesuit, not TMP, but it's hard to tell since it's monochromatic.

  2. I remember sometimes going to school in a golden Star Trek shirt (like Kirk) in probably 2nd greade (so '77)

    Probably right before Star Wars.

  4. Agreed and Agreed.. I LOVED the '70s Trek merchandise, so much a grass-roots, NON-franchise feel to 'em. I'm still trying to track down some minty Trek beach towels my best friend's family had.

LOVE this poster.., I so would have had this back in the day.

  5. This not only brings back memories, it straight up gave me flashbacks. And the munchies.

I want to stare at this while I listen to Nimoy sing "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins". Entire dimensions would form and merge and dissolve into nothingness again. I REACH IT, MAN!

  6. I had a spiral notebook that said Star Trek and showed the Enterprise on it that was done in the same style.

  7. I had this poster. It was circa 74-77. Unfortunately, it was destroyed in a flood in my Dad's home in the late 80's, along with a lot of other memorabilia. The cool thing about this poster was that the black areas were some kind of raised velvet. I also had another one, but can't remember what its focal point was, but it was the same type of raised velvet material. Truly unique!
