Shatnerday

As we do every year, Space: 1970 once again wishes the very happiest of birthdays to the first and best James Tiberius Kirk - William Shatner. He was my first space hero and the creative trek he launched me on continues today - and every day - here on this blog... and in my personal and professional endeavors.

  2. He's also the first of my several captains. I am now shared by him with Captains Solo, Picard, and Reynolds. Two of which don't belong here.

  3. I heard on the radio yesterday that Shatner was 82. I was stunned. It's been longer than I thought, and he's looking pretty spry for a guy that old. Go Bill!

Just landed some of those vintage Star Trek Fotonovels the other day, the first time I've ever seen them, and it's like going back in time. Neat.

  5. William Shatner is powered by dilithium crystal-infused Energizer batteries. He's 82 but he shows absolutely no signs of ever slowing down. Happy Birthday to the first, best Captain Kirk. Mr. Shatner is truly an inspiration to all of us.
