I remember reading a review of "Buck Rogers" from when it first aired -- the reviewer said something like they were trying to use Erin Grey in spandex costumes to distract from the flimsiness of the stories. I do not mind that distraction AT ALL.

They're about eight minutes, but you could skip to the end. If you don't want to see she's changed, don't go. But you know, she's pretty cool anyway.

ReplyDeleteWell, it worked! I was duly distracted.
As I imagine most fans know, actress Juanin Clay (WarGames, 1983) was selected to play Wilma Deering in the Buck Rogers series when Gray was uncertain if she could reprise her movie role. Clay later played Maj. Marla Landers in the episode "Vegas in Space." I didn't know this when I first saw the episode, but it explains the odd "switch" where Deering tells Buck that he will be accompanied on the mission by Landers. "Oh, that Maj. Landers!"
