Amazing that MST3K did not do a show on this movie. It demands to be heckled! Interesting to note that YOR started out as a 4 hour miniseries on Italian television and got edited down for theatrical release. The music for the film is composed by the De Angelis Brothers, who also brought the hilarious title song Yor's World with them, but there is also a straight orchestral score that was composed by John Scott, who also scored Greystoke and The Final Countdown. Seeing Yor turn a dead pterodactyl into a hanglider is one of the greatest moments in camp cinema ever!
Reb Brown, the Buster Crabbe of the 1980s.
ReplyDeleteWow! How did I miss this back in the day? Brilliant concatenation of the space-opera cycle AND the barbarian-fantasy fad.
