ReplyDeleteWell, Charlton contracted these out to Neal Adams' Continuity Studios, so maybe he was hanging out there one day? Or since it was '76 or so, maybe he was just starting out and eager to work? I dunno....
DeleteHe was 52 in 1976 - looks like he did a lot of men's adventure magazine covers in the 50s/60s. Perhaps he was on staff at Continuity.
DeleteA beautiful piece of work it reminds me of Don "Trigan Empire" Lawrence or Alex "Terminator Burning Earth" Ross,sadly although quite a lot of charltons stuff can be found online I`ve only found one issue of the 6 million dollar man magazine and it isn`t this one
ReplyDeleteChris, no doubt you'd be aware but it's worth mentioning anyway, Norem did a bunch of phenomenal covers for the Planet of the Apes comic magazine in the early 70s (all of which I still have, wrapped in plastic!).
ReplyDeleteLater, he did likewise fantastic work as a regular Savage Sword of Conan cover artist.
Thanks to Google I recently found out about his earlier Mens Adventure magazine work too. Guy does not get enough credit.
