MISSION GALACTICA: THE CYLON ATTACK (1978) Theatrical Poster

A couple of days ago, I showcased the poster art for the Galactica 1980 compilation "feature film," Conquest of the Earth. Well, here's artist Robert Tanenbaum's striking poster art for the earlier compilation movie, Mission Galactica: The Cylon Attack, culled from the Battlestar Galactica episodes "The Living Legend" Parts 1 & 2 and "The Fire In Space." Enjoy!

  1. Ooh, some model shots/angles unused in the series toward the end of the title sequence.

  2. I remember when HBO ran this, back in late 79. The narration for their ad was AWESOME, talking about "...a war so devastating, it might change history!"

  3. Pretty cool into. You almost never got to see that overhead shot of the Galactica, with both landing bays in the same view. I remember when this compilation came out.

  4. The poster has a very "action movie" feel to it with the colonial warriors running and an explosion behind them. Even Adama is running!

  6. I remember seeing this advert on the back covers of -- irony alert -- Marvel UK's Star Wars Weekly comics.
