The control room scenes and the big rocket chamber scenes were filmed at Johnson Space Center in Houston, in the slow time between Apollo and Shuttle.
Cool, I didn't know that. A good way to pump up the production value and authenticity!
I'll never understand why they wasted Yul Brenner's appearance in the sequel. That's always bugged me about this movie.
I think Futureworld missed a great opportunity when it came to figuring out a way to bring Brynner back. Throughout the movie, we keep seeing one robot with his face missing. I was certain that by then end we'd learn that it was actually the Gunslinger reprogrammed. But nope, weird dream sequence. I realize it would have been a bit of a plote hole given what happens to the Gunslinger in Westworld but I'd be willing to overlook it for what could have been a great reveal.
